Patriot Homebrew Supply is a local homebrew supply store and brewery that opened their doors on October 5, 2013. 100% veteran owned, Patriot Homebrew Supply is based in Elkhorn, NE servicing Omaha, Nebraska and metro area. Patriot Homebrew Supply provides the highest level of customer service, quality products and promotes the interest of homebrewing and craft beer enthusiasts.

The concept developed from increased interest in homebrewing due to expansion of the local micro‐brewing industry. Omaha is re‐establishing its historical roots in the brewing industry. As of 2013, there were six established brewing companies with three new breweries in progress. Today there are over 84 in Nebraska.  Of the established breweries, many have established a national reputation and generating a solid interest in quality craft beer.

Through personal relationships, the founder of Patriot Homebrew Supply has identified a deep desire for a high‐quality, service oriented craft brewer destination. With expansion of the craft beer market in Omaha, the potential for new, energetic, homebrewers is increasing. Patriot  seeks to provide homebrewers with a hands‐on experience as they begin in the craft or strive to master the art of homebrewing. Patriot is based in the western suburb of Elkhorn, NE; only minutes from the heart of Omaha.

On March 7, 2020 we opened the neighborhood nano brewery inside Patriot’s store front.  We brew classic examples of traditional beer styles that you can now enjoy while shopping with the option of taking a growler home for the rest of the family.  All recipes available free to our customers in hopes that they will enjoy brewing our beer at home.

Matt Misfeldt, a homebrewer since 2007, and advocate for the social aspects of homebrewing and craft beer. A veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, Matt has dedicated himself to developing a locally owned homebrew store to serve the growing interest in craft beer and homebrewing.  He is also Patriot’s Lead Brewer and recipe developer.

Matt has developed his skills through on‐line brewing and beer service educational opportunities. His certifications include: Cicerone Certified Beer Server course, Brewers Association Beer 101 course, the Siebel Institute/World Brewing Academy Executive Overview of the Brewing Process course and Canadian Malting Barley Technical Center – Malting Barley Course.

In 2012, Matt entered his Northern English Brown Ale into the AHA National Homebrew Competition and was awarded second place in the St. Paul, MN region, and thus, advancing to the National round in Seattle, WA.  He continues to submit his beer in contests and earn awards.

Matt is a member of local homebrew clubs and serves as both a beer steward and volunteer beer judge for local homebrewing events.

Matt is currently full time military in the Army National Guard as Lieutenant Colonel.  He also serves in the store as Lead Brewer, a seminar lead, and class instructor.

Jennifer Misfeldt, a homebrewer’s wife, who brings business ownership experience to the store front.  Jennifer was an entrepreneur of two successful businesses but her last job within the corporate world.  She also established and continues to run a non-profit dog rescue organization, MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue.

Her skills include training, organization, customer service, documentation, and marketing which will ensure the success of the store and provide our customers with an enjoyable experience that they will return.

Jennifer left the corporate world to open Patriot to find during her notice that she was pregnant with our first.  Logan joined the family in December 2013 (two months after the store opened) and we look forward to him becoming the future of Patriot!
